Rhythm of light and view to human experience
The project is inspired by the linear quality of the pier. The tectonic order emerges from the pulling and joining of the units. These units alternate with each other, creating the rhythmic language and structural grain. The slits grow and pull out of the solids creating moments of slippage and light. The slits become portraits for nature, capturing moments of life. Rather than a particular artwork being exhibited, each slit is an artwork. They allow the visitors to observe the lively moments of Miami, the sandy geology, the underwater life, and the human activity on the seashore.
